Chamber selling tickets for ring raffle

March 10, 2011 - The Leonard Chamber of Commerce is selling raffle chances for the ring pictured here, which was donated by Jack Bonds and Pawn Tech. The tickets are 1 for $5 or 10 for $20 and are for sale at all locations carrying the Chamber Banquet tickets (KD Johnson, Leonard Pharmacy, etc.). All of the proceeds from the raffle benefit the Fireworks Extravaganza planned for the this year's Leonard Picnic finale. The winner of the raffle will be drawn Monday, April 4, during the Chamber Banquet, after the door prize presentations.

 

Cozarts welcome a son

March 10, 2011 - Jordan and Maria Cozart of Leonard would like to announce the birth of their son, Christian Alexandro Cozart, born Feb. 16, 2011, at 1:30 a.m. in McKinney. He weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz. and measured 20.5 inches in length. Proud grandparents are Alan and Cindy Price, Manuel and Magdalena Nino Rodriguez, Bryan and Jan Cozart, and Ricky and Debbie Moody. Great-grandparents are Tom and Joyce Price. Other proud family includes uncles Justin Cozart and Peter Price and the Eastin family of Leonard.

 

 

Leonard woman shares recipe with thousands

March 10, 2011 - Leonard resident Regina Taunton is sharing her Surprise Cake recipe and other family recipes with thousands of other hometown cooks at Just A Pinch Recipe Club, the new online community created for and by cooks in hometown America at www.justapinch.com.

Taunton is one of several area residents participating in the club, billed as "America's Greatest Recipe Swap". Members can post family recipes and search, print, chat about and try recipes submitted by other members.

 

Clean-up day at park planned

March 10, 2011 - The City of Leonard Parks Boards is sponsoring Leonard Park Pride Day on Saturday, April 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., starting at the city park pavilion. Lunch and drinks will be provided for those assisting, and organizers are gathering items to give away in drawings. Area residents are invited and encouraged to support the park and the board by helping clean up.

 

Beta Brings Bears

March 10, 2011 - Members of the Trenton High School Beta Club visited with the Leonard Manor residents recently and gave them each a gift of a teddy bear.
