MAY 5, 2011 - Najwa Naomi Nwankwo is the 17-year-old daughter of Juanita Nwankwo. She is a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and has attended Leonard schools 13 years. While in Leonard schools she has been active in basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, track, cross country and student government.

April 28, 2011 - The classes at Leonard Elementary took an hour out of their day Monday to encourage their fellow third grade schoolmates, who would embark on the TAKS test Tuesday morning. The Pep Rally included cheers from the LHS Cheerleaders, skits from each grade and even some teachers, musical presentations, and even a karate demonstration. The kids enjoyed dancing and getting pumped up to do good on their exam, which must be passed in the third grade to move to fourth grade.

April 28, 2011 - Leonard ISD Children's Center will host a St. Jude Trike-A-Thon this week April 25-29. The event will teach children riding-toy safety while raising funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, one of the world's premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. St. Jude is the top children's cancer hospital in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report.

April 28, 2011 - Dylan Ray Blackburn is the 18-year-old son of Darrell and Wendy Blackburn. He is a member of Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ and has attended Leonard schools 13 years.

While at Leonard ISD, he has been active in Beta Club six years, golf one year, tennis one year, football two years, basketball two years, baseball one year and Powder Puff for four years.

April 28, 2011 - John Mason Butler is the 18-year-old son of John Butler and Lisa Butler. He has attended Leonard schools for 14 years, being active in Beta Club, tennis and Powder Puff.
