- A resident on Main Street filed a theft report on May 9 at 3:45 p.m. Reports show that reflective markers placed at the end of the complainant's driveway were found missing. He reported that the markers were in place when he took his trash out at 6 a.m. on the day of the report.
- Officers took a second theft report from a Main Street resident on May 9 at 9:48 p.m. The complainant advised that she had solar lights outside around her house that were in place when she left for work at approximately 6 a.m. When she returned home that evening from a baseball game, the lights were missing. The property's estimated value was $25.
- An officer on routine patrol found the results of more criminal mischief at city park on May 10 at 6:25 a.m. The officer noticed a large amount of water in the park and discovered that two of the faucets near the camping utilities had been tampered with. One faucet had simply been turned on while the pipe on the other one had been busted. A city worker was contacted and advised of the damage.
- Fannin County dispatch sent a Leonard officer to Westlake Drive for an animal complaint on May 10 at 7:50 p.m. The complainant advised that a dog in the neighborhood had been out and was following the complainant's daughter and scaring her. The officer observed an animal matching the description given and saw a woman walking with it. When advised that the animal had been complained on, the woman became argumentative with the officer and stated that the city didn't have a leash law or require tags. The officer replied that the city did indeed have a leash law and that the dog would be picked up if it was found out again.
- A U.S. Highway 69 resident filed a theft report on May 11 at 8:20 a.m. after discovering that his driveway reflectors were missing. They were red in color and valued at $4 each.
- Police and volunteer firemen were dispatched to FM 272 on May 13 at 7 p.m. after a major accident had been reported. Reports show that a truck driven by a 40-year-old resident left the roadway and struck a fence. The driver stated that she was speeding a little and was trying to make a phone call on her cell phone when the vehicle left the roadway. No injuries were reported.
- A Leonard teen was issued a citation on May 13 at 8:45 p.m. after an officer on routine patrol observed him urinating on the elementary school playground where everyone could see him. The officer made contact with the teen and advised him that he could not urinate in a public place. The teen reportedly became disrespectful to the officer and his mother was called to the scene and advised of the situation.
- Two Dallas area residents were arrested by Leonard police on May 13 at 4:40 a.m. after a citizen complained about a car sitting in the middle of the roadway near the downtown area. Charges were filed against two occupants for marijuana possession, driving while intoxicated and failure to identify to a peace officer.
- A resident on Connett Street filed a theft report on May 14 at 12 p.m. after discovering that sidewalk lights and a front porch decoration had been stolen from her residence. The complainant reported that she believed they had been taken during the evening of the previous day.
- Leonard police issued a citation to a resident on Mulberry Street on May 14 for violating the city ordinance pertaining to dogs at large. The complainant on the report advised that the dog had run in front of him while he was riding his bike, knocking him down, and then further snapped at him while he was down. The officer made contact with the owner and issued a ticket for the offense.
- A 34-year-old Blue Ridge resident was arrested by a Leonard officer on May 14 at 11:50 p.m. after drugs were found in his vehicle during a traffic stop. Reports show that Alan Elder was stopped after the officer observed him driving on State Highway 78 in a vehicle matching the description of one who had evaded him earlier in the evening for speeding. After at first denying it was him, Elder later confirmed that he was the one who had run from the officer earlier in the evening because he didn't want to go back to jail. After at first denying that he had anything in his vehicle that the officer needed to know about, he later reported that there were drugs under his front seat. Elder was arrested for a state jail felony count of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group one weighing less than one gram. He was also cited for speeding. Elder has faced previous charges of assault, unlawful carrying of a weapon and theft of property valuing $1500-$20,000 in Grayson and Collin Counties.
- Leonard officers responded to a major accident on the S curves of State Highway 78 west of Leonard on May 15 at 2:22 a.m. Reports show that a red Toyota Tundra driven by a 43-year-old resident left the roadway and took out fencing and struck a tree. The driver advised that he had been working since 6 a.m. the previous day and was on his way home from work when he fell asleep as he approached the curve. His vehicle sustained extensive damage and he complained of having chest pains and a hard time breathing. The driver was transported to a McKinney hospital for evaluation.
- While investigating a case, an officer observed a black wallet lying in the roadway on May 15. The wallet included a driver's license belonging to a Bonham teen, and was collected by the officer for safe-keeping until the owner could retrieve it.
