- An officer on routine patrol on April 25 at 4:45 a.m. observed a Chrysler passenger car make two traffic violations and conducted a traffic stop. It was found that both occupants - who were minors - had consumed alcohol earlier in the evening, but were not intoxicated. Both were issued citations for minor in consumption of alcohol and the driver was cited for failure to dim headlights.
- The Leonard Volunteer Fire Department was summoned by an officer on April 28 at 1 a.m. after observing smoke coming from a fire that was in close proximity to trees, and also contained construction materials. The fire was extinguished.
- A local business contacted police on April 28 at 4 p.m. after a Celeste man reportedly came to the location and appeared to be intoxicated. The man was contacted, found to be intoxicated, issued a citation for the offense, and released to his wife.
- Suspicious activity at Leonard City Park prompted an investigation by police on April 28. An officer observed a vehicle with no lights parked near the baseball field at 9:15 p.m. and it was occupied by a 54-year-old Greenville man and a 16-year-old Leonard girl. Both reported that they were just sitting and talking, but in separate interviews the girl said the man was her uncle, but the man said they were friends who had met online and the girl had told him she was 18. The officer advised the man that she was 16. The girls' mother was contacted to pick up her daughter and told the officer that she would handle it. Theman reported that he was deleting the girls number and would not be contacting her again.
- An officer was contacted by a male resident after a dispute over a vehicle had taken place between the complainant and a female resident. The man told officers that the woman still owed $150 on the car and she had never finished paying on it. The woman admitted to not paying the rest, but said it was due to the fact that the person she bought the car from had moved and she didn't know where to find him. Both parties agreed to settle the matter of the remaining balance over the next two weeks.
- The Hunt County Sheriff's Office contacted Leonard police for an assist on April 29 at 3:10 p.m. after they had a warrant for a Leonard resident. The wanted person was located at her residence on Hunt Street, taken into custody and transferred to a Hunt County officer for transport.
- A resident contacted police on April 29 at 11:22 p.m. after a juvenile standing in the street near Bois d'Arc and Connett Streets was causing all of the dogs in the immediate vicinity to bark. The officer responded to the location, but was unable to locate anyone standing in the road.
- A Leonard officer was dispatched to south State Highway 78 on April 30 at 4:05 a.m. to assist a Collin County department with the search of a vehicle involved in a hit and run. The vehicle was not located.
- An officer was dispatched to the intersection of FM 981 and State Highway 78 for a reported accident. The officer was unable to locate a wreck at that location, but after a short search, found a pickup several feet off of FM 981 in Collin County. The truck appeared to have rolled several times and the driver was found lying in the bed of the truck holding his neck. The officer noted that several bottles of alcohol littered the crash site. The investigation was turned over to Collin County Sheriff's Office.
- A concerned mother called police on April 30 at 9:45 a.m. after her daughter had reportedly never shown up at a school dance that she had been given permission to go to with a friend. The mother advised that she also permitted her daughter to stay the night with the friend with the understanding that she be home by 1 p.m. on April 30. The mother wished to file a missing persons report since she had never shown up at the dance. The officer advised that since she had given her permission to be gone until 1 p.m., she could not be considered a missing person until after that time. The officer advised the mother to contact some of her daughter's friends and find out if they know where she is. The mother was able to locate her daughter at her friend's residence, and left to go pick her up.
- Two residents of Pleasant Grove were arrested by a Leonard officer on May 1 at 4:10 a.m. for offenses relating to the consumption of alcohol. An officer observed a truck make a traffic offense and initiated a stop. The driver and passenger reported that they had been drinking in Addison and got lost on the way home, and both were intoxicated. The passenger was arrested and charged with public intoxication. The driver was originally arrested for driving while intoxicated, but was also charged with resisting arrest after becoming physical and non-compliant with the officer, and a count of criminal mischief after urinating in the patrol vehicle while in route to Fannin County Jail.
