Feb. 3, 2011 - The Celeste Thursday Club met on January 13 at the Community Room of the Celeste Bank. The date of the meeting was the 100th anniversary of the forming of the club. Sarah Andry, Bethalyne Lyon, Patsy Whitworth, Charlotte Williams, Christine Carrington, Mary Ann Hooks, Lynda Lou Thorp, Frances Armstrong, Jo Willa Pierson, Virginia Johnson, Rachel Clark, Lynn Felty, and Judy Hubbard attended the meeting. Vickie J. Griffis attended as the club's guest.

Patsy Whitworth gave the devotion about the joys and sorrows in the life of each person. The roll call requested members to relate their first impression of Celeste. Sarah Swindell presented an impressive history of Celeste. It was discovered that Celeste was named after the granddaughter of a railroad official.
