Dear Editor,

I retired from the ministry one year ago. However, I have not been happy because when God calls you to preach He doesn't retire you. I can't find in the Bible where anyone God called retired. In the United Methodist Church, even though you retire, you are still part of the Annual Conference. I and Liz have thought and prayed over the last year, asking God what direction we should go.

The direction I have taken is to separate myself from the United Methodist Church. I voluntarily turned in my credentials to the North Texas Conference to be put on file. I am no longer part of the United Methodist Church.
