Dear editor,

We would like to thank the Leonard Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring the annual Easter egg hunt again this year. It is a wonderful event that is free of charge and allows the children in the community to enjoy being together while hunting eggs filled with toys and candy and having their picture made with the Easter bunny. The Chamber purchased the 5,000 Easter eggs and allowed us to use their PA System to announce the event. We also want to thank the City for allowing us to use the City Park and the city crew for preparing the grounds for the event.

Thank you to The Leonard Graphic, Betsy Blevins, and Ava Barlow for running the stories about the event and taking pictures during the event.

Thank you to Crossroads Hardware for donating construction tape to mark the hunting areas and duct tape and mounting tape to hang the posters on the signs to mark the age groups for each hunt.

Thank you to Larry LaFavers and the administration at Leonard ISD for distributing the flyers to the children advertising the event.

Thank you to Chuck Vibbert for "helping with" the Easter bunny.

Thanks to the following people for helping us set up and clean up before and after the event: Jonathan Scoggins and the Leonard Boy Scouts, Jon Sadler, Zanne Christman, Brenda Wrenn, and Brenda Beck. We hope all the children had a great time, and we look forward to next year!

Angela Sadler and Elizabeth Christman
