Daughter for Mammens

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mammen, 2906 Rock Island Rd., Irving, are the happy parents of a daughter. She arrived February 1, 1961 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas.

She weighed 7 lbs., 12 ozs., and has been named Joni Lynn. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Noel Miller of Leonard and C. C. Mammen of Irving.

Gordon Wright Sells FFA Calf To Evans

Gordon Wright has sold his FFA project, a 572 pound Hereford calf, to Clarence Evans. Gordon bought the calf from A. C. Simmons when he weighed 400 pounds.

During the 120 days Gordon owned the calf he fed 1100 pounds of feed, including three sacks of cotton seed hulls, three sacks of cotton seed meal, three scaks of ground corn and two sacks of FFA mix. These sacks contained 100 lbs each.

Gordon is a freshman student in Leonard High School. He is the son of Mrs. Lois Wright. 

W. C. Griffitt is his Agriculture Instructor.

Mr. Evans will have the beef for sale at West Side Grocery and Market this weekend.

Birthday Party For Rebecca Sudderth

Rebecca Jean Sudderth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray T. Sudderth of Leonard, Route 1, celebrated her ninth birthday Saturday, February 4, at her home west of Leonard. Her birthday was January 31st.

Guests present were: Suzy and Butch Spangler, Marian and Melva Lee Dixon, Phyllis Kuhn, Dawn Fowler, Mrs. E. T. Fowler, Mrs. C. E. Preddy, Mrs. Dick Price and Mrs. Sudderth.

Refreshments of lemonade and heartshaped birthday cake were served.
