May 19, 2011 - The Boy Scouts of Troop 156 have placed American flags in the yards of patrons for Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Fourth of July and Veterans Day this past year. For a $50 annual donation, the Scouts will honorably display a 3 x 5 U.S. Flag at a Leonard residence or place of business on the above mentioned five holidays. The Scouts store the flags, poles, and maintain them throughout the year. This is a great way to support the local scouts and demonstrate your patriotism. This might also make a great gift for someone that you know.

"We would like to thank the Leonard residents who have participated in this program over the past year it has really helped improve our scouting program here in Leonard," stated John Kay, Scoutmaster of Leonard Troop 156. "We are currently signing up new supporters and renewing the folks who helped us out last year. It is a great way for the Scouts to earn their funds as well as honoring America and promoting community spirit."

The funds raised will help the Leonard Scouts update worn equipment and help defray the cost of activities. To participate, please contact John Kay (587-2222) or Scott Blackerby (587-3373).
