May 19, 2011 - American Bank of Texas in Leonard is leading The Leonard Fighters in the Fannin County Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society which will be held Friday and Saturday, May 20 and 21, at Warrior Stadium in Bonham. This event begins at 7 p.m. on Friday and concludes at 7 a.m. on Saturday.

Members of The Leonard Fighters team - which currently has at least 17 members - will be soliciting money to donate to the American Cancer Society as well as the money raised at the event on Friday night with the sale of barbecue sandwiches. The Leonard Fighters are trying to raise $3,000, and have over $1700 raised so far.

American Bank is selling sun, moon and footprints that can be inscribed in honor or in memory of someone. You can also register to be on the team or make a donation to a team member.

On the days of the event, the group will sell brisket sandwiches, chips and a drink for $5.
