Funeral services for Leonard D. Stanley, age 52 of Wolfe City, are scheduled for Tuesday, July 10, at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Wolfe City with Kevin Towery officiating. Burial will follow in the Grove Hill Cemetery near Leonard. Family visitation will be Tuesday prior to the service from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Stanley passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012, at his home.

Stanley was born Dec. 30, 1959, in Leonard, the son of James and Lorene Stanley. He married Nancy Bryant on May 17, 1997 in Bonham. Stanley was a home builder, a member of the Wolfe City Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years and was an honorary member of the Excelsior Lodge 505 in Wolfe City. His interest included raising cattle, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandkids. He was a member of the Bois D'Arc Creek Cowboy Church in Edhube.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Nancy, of Wolfe City; daughter, Roxanne James of Wolfe City; daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Cody Cox of Wolfe City; step-son, Bryant Sanford of Wolfe City; grandkids, Karli James, Cody Wayne Cox and Molly Kate Cox; parents, James and Lorene Stanley of Leonard; brother and sister-in-law, David and Vickie Stanley; brother, Monty Stanley of Leonard; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dell and Jerry McNear of Bailey and Tammy and J.R. Wood of Leonard; sister, Vicki Griffis Cobb; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be Joe Hodge, Larry Keale, Ron Kent, Curtis Stanbery, Clint Dawson, Lee Smith, Monty Stanley and David Stanley.
