Feb. 17, 2011 - Funeral services for Patsy Ruth Yates Broyles, 77, of Leonard, were held Monday, Feb. 14, at the First Baptist Church in Leonard at 10 a.m. with Danny Henderson and Dewey Watson officiating. Burial was in the Leonard Cemetery. She passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-Wilson N. Jones in Sherman.

Broyles was born April 4, 1933, in Blue Ridge, the daughter of Floyd Everett and Eva Marie Evans Yates. She graduated from Blue Ridge High School. She married J. C. Broyles July 19, 1957, in Durant, Okla. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leonard, where she served in the nursery for 18 plus years and was a part of the AWANA program for 10 years. Broyles was a member of TOPS and an avid Texas Ranger fan.

She is survived by a son, Ricky Hallmark of Wylie; daughter, Ruthie Hanson of Leonard; sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Alvin Barnett of Garland; sister, Betty Antwiler of Caddo, Okla.; four grandchildren, Bobby Lee, Amy and Rusty Hanson and Cary Rivas; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; God-daughter, Tina Manning; guardian angels, Sharon and Darrell Grintz and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lonny Yates.

Family visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard.

Memorials may be made to the AWANA program of the First Baptist Church of Leonard.
