Extension office holding Master Gardener training

June 16, 2011 - Are you interested in learning more about gardening while helping to educate your neighbors and the Fannin County community?Master Gardeners are a very active and exciting group. If you would like to volunteer your time in this way, becoming a Texas Master Gardener might be just for you.

Texas AgriLife Extension Service is offering the Master Gardener training beginning Wednesday, Sept. 7, and continuing every Wednesday through Nov. 9. Classes will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and be held in Greenville at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center.The cost of this training is $17, which includes the cost of the Texas Master Gardener Handbook, supplies and handouts and field trips.

Applications are available at the Fannin County Extension office, at the South Annex, 210 South Main Street, Bonham (903)583-7453. Or online athttp://txmg.org/fannin/. The deadline for applications to be turned into the Extension office is July 1. Texas Master Gardeners are a volunteer program of Texas AgriLife Extension, a member of the Texas A&M University System and its statewide Agricultural program. Extension Programs serve people of all ages regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, religion, disability, or national origin.
