June 2, 2011 - Skydivers from all over Texas swarmed to Skydive Dallas, located south of Whitewright, on Thursday afternoon, May 26, to watch a B-25 bomber from the Confederate Air Force fly over.

The event was originally planned for the plane to land at Skydive Dallas, allow time for people to tour it and parachutists could pay to be dropped from the bomb hole, but Tuesday night heavy rains caused a change in plans. This unique experience for seasoned divers, who drop from planes in the north Texas area on a regular basis, was reorganized and skydivers were shuttled to the McKinney airport where they boarded the B-25 and were dropped over the north Texas location of Skydive Dallas. In under an hour, close to 100 parachutists dropped from the B-25 or jumped from one of several other planes owned by Skydive Dallas, giving various colors to the bright blue sky.
