May 26, 2011 - Hannah's Horseshoes of Hope Therapeutic Riding Center in Dodd City has set its summer camp program and offers a variety of opportunities for children with special needs as well as for youngsters who want to learn to ride.

The organization is hosting an Open House on Saturday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a horse show highlighting the accomplishments of the student riders plus a driving exhibition! The horse show will be at 10 a.m. so come and join the fun. The Texoma Regional Blood Center will have their Bloodmobile at Hannah's so come on out and donate much-needed blood. It only takes 30 minutes! There will be vendors and concessions at the event.

Hannah's serves children and adults with cognitive disabilities -- which can be due to a number of issues including Down Syndrome, autism, traumatic brain injury or ADD -- people with physical or emotional needs, at-risk children and returning veterans.

Camp details are as follows:

June 6-7: Special Needs & Siblings - ages 6-13. Two half days. $75

June 9-10: Riding Camp - ages 7-13. Two full days. $150

June 16-17: Autism Spectrum Disorders -ages 6-13. Two half days. $75

June 27-28: Special Needs & Siblings - ages 6-13. Two half days. $75

July 11-12: Riding Camp - ages 7-13. Two full days. $150

July 18-21: Leadership Riding Camp - ages 13-17. Four days. $225

The organization is also looking for volunteer help with the special needs camps specifically for arts, crafts and games to keep those youngsters happy and active when they are not riding! 'Horsey' volunteers also needed for the other riding camps.
