May 19, 2011 - Jake Buchanan is the 18-year-old son of Mark and Joyce Buchanan. He is a member of First Baptist Church of Leonard and has attended Leonard schools for 12 years. While at Leonard, he "played a little football, went to golf a couple of times and ran track when Coach Guess made me". He was named Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year on the Tiger football team for the 2010 season.

Some of Jake's favorite things include the following: food, bacon cheeseburger; drink, water; colors, scarlet and black; place, Lubbock; movie, Potemkin; actor, Pauly-D; actress, J-wow; athlete, Wes Welker; team, Calgary Flames; song, The Matador Song; person, Mom and Jesus; book, Sideways Stories from Wayside School; and sport, ping-pong. His favorite memory at LHS is LUNCH.

Jake's advice for underclassmen is "follow your dreams". His favorite free time activity is sleeping. If he could do anything, he would fly to the moon. If he could change anything, he would change the U.S. colors to scarlet and black. His pet peeve is Longhorn fans.

Jake graduated early in December 2010 and has already completed his first semester at Texas Tech University.
