Jonathan “Aaron” Edward Shanks is the 19-year-old son of Keith Shanks, Sharla Wolf and Garrett Todd. He is a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and has attended Leonard schools five years. During his time in Leonard, Aaron has been active in football four years, baseball four years, basketball four years, FFA three years and FCA five years.

His accomplishments/honors during that time are as follows: football - Varsity Special Teams Player of the Year 2009-10, All-District Honorable Mention 2009-10, Second Team All-District Wide Receiver 2010-11, Second Team All-District Safety 2010-11 and Second Team All-District Punter 2010-11; basketball - All-Tournament in Celeste Tournament and Second Team All-District for 2010-11; baseball - Outfielder of the Year 2009-10; FFA - Livestock Judging Team 2007-2010; and Homecoming King nominee for 2010-11.

Some of Aaron’s favorite things include food - mom’s chips and hot sauce; drink, Sprite; color, red; place, Red River, N.M.; movie, 8 Seconds; actor, Morgan Freeman; actress, Cameron Diaz; athlete, Michael Young; team, Texas Rangers; song, My Town by Montgomery Gentry; person, G-Todd; book, The Bible and sports, football, baseball and basketball. His favorite memory at LHS is taking Ms. Coylene’s Jolly Ranchers.

His advice for underclassmen is “Don’t pester Tornado Pam during school”. In his free time, Aaron likes to hang out with friends. If he could do anything, he would fight fires and save lives. If he could change anything, he would be wealthy. His pet peeve is Ms. King not allowing him to visit Mrs. McCarley in the library.

After graduation, Aaron plans to attend the fire academy and become a fire fighter.
