Leonard ISD Open House is March 8

March 3, 2011 - All campuses in Leonard ISD will be celebrating Texas Public Schools Week by inviting parents, students and the community to visit the campuses on Tuesday evening, March 8. In addition, a Title I and AEIS Meeting will be held at each campus during this time. The junior high campus will also host a Stew Supper from 5-7 p.m. in the high school cafetorium. Below are the times each campus will have their Open House along with the time of the meetings.

 

School board extends contracts, calls election

Feb. 24, 2011 - With the highest enrollment for Leonard ISD standing at 912 students, the school board convened on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. in a short but very beneficial meeting. After executive session a motion was made to extend the contracts of Brad Maxwell as Leonard elementary principal, Brandi Savage as intermediate principal, Heather Sumrow as junior high principal, Brad Connelly as high school principal and Shane Fletcher as athletic director for the school district until June 2013.

 

Four competing in regional girl's powerlifting meet

Feb. 24, 2011 - As expected, the Lady Tiger powerlifting team will have a strong representation this weekend at the girl's regional powerlifting meet, scheduled for Saturday at Leonard High School. Seniors Cadi Grantland and Latiesha Buckley, junior April Jones and freshman Rebekah Feagan will compete in their respective weight classes in the upcoming meet for a chance to move on to the state competition March 18-19 in Corpus Christi.

Effective Monday, Feb. 28, Leonard students will have longer day

Feb. 24, 2011 - Leonard ISD has been informed by the Texas Education Agency that the district is to ensure every effort is made to make-up the bad weather days that have been missed. Because of this ruling, April 22, May 6, and May 30 (which is Memorial Day) will now be regular school days. The Tier I schedule is now extended through Monday, May 23, with Tier II beginning on Tuesday, May 24, and ending on Friday, June 3.
