Chrystal Opry House hosting events this week

MAY 5, 2011 - The Chrystal Opry House will host their regular Bluegrass jam on Thursday night, May 5, at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. as usual. Donations will be accepted at the door to defray expenses.

 

4-H donates to Habitat for Humanity house

April 28, 2011 - On Saturday April 23,Texas Star 4-H of Fannin County donated a home welcoming basket for the new Habitat For Humanity House in Leonard, built for the Vega family. The basket contained items collected by Fannin County 4-H youth to help the Vega family settle into their new home.

Barber honored for decade of leadership

April 28, 2011 - Board members of the Fannin County Children's Center surprised their director with an award at their recent open house. Executive Director Sandy Barber was wrapping up her speech to those attending the nonprofit agency's open house, when Board President Cindy Bankston sprung the surprise on the unsuspecting director.

 

Precinct 4 barn site of hazardous waste collection Saturday

April 28, 2011 - Dr. Susan B. Thomas, Executive Director of the Texoma Council of Governments, has announcedthe schedule for the 2011 Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collections in the Texoma Region. The collections will be held on Saturday, April 30, in three separate locations including the Criminal Justice Center located in Gainesville, Midway Mall in Sherman, and the Precinct 4 County Warehouse on the east side of Bonham. All collections will begin at 9 a.m. and close no later than 1 p.m.

 

Senate candidate speaks to Republican party

April 28, 2011 - Last Thursday evening, the Fannin County Republican Party hosted Roger Williams, a leading Senatorial candidate, to a wonderful King Ranch Chicken Dinner among a large crowd at the Family Life Center in Bonham.

Soon after meeting Williams, there was no doubt in anyone's mind why he is a leader in endorsements and fundraising for the U.S. Senate, replacing the retiring Kay Bailey Hutchinson.
