Kindergarteners learn etiquette on Elegant Day

March 3, 2011 - It is never too early to start practicing good manners and proper etiquette at Celeste Elementary. The Kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Barnard and Mrs. Morrow, have been teaching their students about making good impressions and being polite and courteous to others. The students had an opportunity to demonstrate what they had learned during their elegant party on Friday, Feb. 25.

March 3, 2011 - Pictured is Celeste foreign exchange student Megumi Otsuka from Japan, who is on spring break from college, her college friend Yurie Miya and Celeste friend Kristie Lynne Patterson, who all attended the Clay Walker concert at Billy Bob's Texas on Feb. 5. Also attending with them, but not pictured, were friends Devon Walden, Myrna Patterson and Randy Taylor.

The Coffee Club

March 3, 2011 - Vicki J. Griffis served as hostess at Celeste Coffee Club who met February 23. There were twelve members, besides the hostess, present; they were Ruth Barker, Ruby Miller, Frances Reynolds, Melba Compton, Lynda Lou Thorp, Mary Ann Hooks, Gwen Schroth, Chris Carrington, Marjorie Denny, Rachel Clark, Barbara Ashworth and Judy Hubbard.

Singing Halyards

The Halyard Singers will be guests of the United Methodist Church next Sunday, March 8, at the evening service, 6:00 p.m.

The family group will be visiting a local family, the Choice Atkins, and will share their gospel music.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

FEBRUARY 27, 1981

M - S Offers New Auto Service

M & S Repair, of Celeste, manufactures trailer cable assemblies and has now opened a new business that offers complete auto and truck service.

Charles Millican, President of M & S Co., stated that they have offered some auto service in the past, but they have now added a hydraulic auto lift and have added to the service they can give.

The service center is located just north of uptown Celeste in the M & S building. They are an authorized and licensed State inspection center plus have several lines of new tires and batteries to sell.

S. J. Douglas, manager of the center, stated that with the new hydraulic rack they can now give complete lube jobs and oil changes. They have purchased new tire repair equipment and can now repair and, or sell all types of car, truck and farm implement tires.
