March 17, 2011 - Calling all quilters! Do you love to quilt? Do you have a specialty that you would like to demonstrate? Do you have a quilt to display? Do you do corners for bindings, paper appliqus? Do you do needle turn appliqu, iron-on adhesives, new tool technique, machine appliqu, or mitered corners? The Quilt Hop committee would love to hear from you and find out who you are and what you like about quilting. March 17, 2011 - Grandparents were invited to attend the annual Celeste Elementary Grandparents Day event on March, 10, 2011. Grandchildren greeted grandparents and great-grandparents with gifts they had made in honor of the golden guests. Students decorated the gym with special class projects they had created for this special event. Celeste students and their grandparents got to spend some quality time together while enjoying cookies and milk. Bethany and Brenden Carter had grand and great-grandparents in attendance! March 17, 2011 - Celeste Special Olympians struck gold in the basketball skills competition in Frisco on February 18. Competing against students from all around the Metroplex, the Special Olympic athletes from Celeste were outstanding. The high school students competing were Jose and Anna Spradling, both won first place - Gold; junior high - Faith Nix, first place - Gold; Byron Garcia, third place - Bronze; Rex Gentry, first place - Gold and Kaela Eason, second place - Silver. The Special Olympians will be competing in Track on April 9.

March 17, 2011 - Blue Devil dance and cheerleader tryouts were held Friday, March 11 and the following students were chosen: 2011 Dance Officers - Carly Collida, Jennifer Moore, Kelli White and Frances Wilgus; 2011 Varsity Cheerleaders - Sydney Ball, Tirrani Dozier, Madalyne Pearce, Haley Trentham, Morgan Warren and Alisha Williford; 2011 Junior High Cheerleaders - Bailee Carter, Jordan Compton, Tanisha Garcia, Starla Harrell, Hannah Lipsey, Madison Minter, Sarah Myers and Haley Wilson.
