June 16, 2011 - Celeste Elementary 4th and 5th grade students entertained a large crowd with a musical on May 31. The musical was a beautiful patriotic performance that warmed the hearts and stirred the souls of many. The students also honored the proud state of Texas by performing "Texas, Our Texas" and stating the symbolism of the Texas State Flag. The program closed with a stunning "Star-Spangled Banner" guitar solo by DeAnna Powell (top photo). Check out the CISD website photo gallery for more photos of the performance. The 4th and 5th grade classes would like to send a special thanks to Rhonda Connor and Heather Gibson for making the wonderful patriotic decorations.

June 16, 2011 - Megan Sherwin and Nathanael Nix were recognized for a second year with having the most campus points for the Accelerated Reader program at Celeste Elementary. Megan received top honors by earning 406.3 points with a 94.5% average. Nathanael came in second by earning 286.7 points with a 95.2% average.

June 9, 2011 - The Celeste High School academic awards assembly was held on May 25. Students were awarded for academic achievement in all subject areas. Scholarship recipients, top students (Valedictorian - Amanda Gilliam and Salutatorian - Jo Ventura) and honor graduates were announced. Recognition was given for perfect attendance, ACT readiness and UIL scholar awards.

June 9, 2011 - The kindergarten classes at Celeste Elementary participated in an end-of-year "graduation" as they completed their first year of school and promote to the first grade next year.
