March 31, 2011 - Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) recently launched a fresh design of its Be Ag Smart website, a showcase of how agriculture affects the daily lives of consumers, students and teachers in the Lone Star State.

"The Be Ag Smart website reaches an audience that may not have first-hand experience with life on a farm," said Jerry Magness, Fannin County Farm Bureau president. "Be Ag Smart connects Texans with the people and places that grow their food."

March 31, 2011 - As demand for U.S. agricultural products increases worldwide, so does the need for sound trade policies and agreements that will benefit farmers and ranchers in Fannin County and across the nation, said Jerry Magness, Fannin County Farm Bureau president.

"The pending free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea will lead to billions of dollars in future agricultural exports," Magness said. "It's time to move beyond the politics and pass these three agreements."

March 24, 2011 - The Kidz Krew Performing Arts program will present Sherlock Holmes and the Grimm Imbroglio on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 31 - April 2. All performances are at the Windom Performing Arts Center (the old Windom School) at 7 p.m. The story centers on the famous literary detective Sherlock Holmes and his sidekick Dr. Watson, with a few Grimm brothers' characters along for the ride.

March 24, 2011 - On Saturday, April 2nd, at 1 p.m., the Creative Arts Center (CAC), located at 200 W 5th Street in Bonham, will be transformed into an elegant tea room, hosting the 2nd Annual 4-H Fashion Show and Tea; "Keys to Fashion," benefiting the youth and family services of the CAC and Fannin County Family Crisis Center (FCFCC). Similar to last year's highly successful event, in which over $600 was raised for the CAC and FCFCC, 4-H youth will model fashions they've constructed in their clothing and textiles projects as part of their county fashion show competition, qualifying to participate in the District 4-H Fashion Show later in April.
