Tigers defeated in final second of tie-breaker game

Feb. 24, 2011 - In an edge-of-your-seat, nail-biter of a game Saturday, the Leonard Tigers played their hearts out in a third place district tie-breakeragainst a team they had already defeated in regular season twice - Rivercrest. If the schools had decided at their district meeting to go by head-to-head competition during regular play to determine tie-breakers, Leonard would've been in the play-offs automatically.

Bennett leads boy's golf team at Tanglewood tourney

Freshman Justin Bennett carded a 95 in his first ever varsity tournament Monday to lead the Leonard Tigers in their 2011 golf debut among several larger schools at Tanglewood Country Club in Pottsboro.

Sophomore Brad Dills added an even 100 in his first varsity event, followed by junior Cory Martin at 107. Sophomores Mitchell Vines and Storm Taylor wrapped up the Tiger effort with scores of 118 and 121, respectively.

Band sending nine to state contest

Feb. 24, 2011 - On Saturday, Feb. 19, ten students from the Leonard High School Band competed in the UIL Region 25 Solo & Ensemble Competition at Prosper High School. The students have been working on preparing their music since early December and the hard work has definitely paid off.
