It's a Boy!
Mike and Bonnie Pickerill of Wolfe City announce the birth of a son, Chad Michael, born May 22, 1981weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz.
Grandparents are Mrs. Ellen Pickerill of Wolfe City and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hall of Celeste.
Hall-Miller
Ruth Ann Hall and Bobby Ray Miller pledged wedding vows Friday evening May 15 at the First Baptist Church with Jim Butler officiating the double ring service.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hall of Celeste. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Allen Miller of Leonard.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of eyelet lace, trimmed with chiffon. The full skirt ended in a chapel length train. The empire bodice featured fitted sleeves to the elbow, which then puffed and were gathered into a ruffle at the wrists. The collar and cuffs were trimmed with lace. She carried a bouquet of white satin daisies and roses.
Konnie Griffis served as maid of honor. Timothy Hancock, cousin of the bride, served as best man.
Following a short wedding trip, the couple will reside in Leonard. The bride is a 1981 graduate of Celeste High School. The bridegroom is employed at Texas Tax in Wolfe City.
Meredith Gibson Celebrates 5th Birthday
Meredith Gibson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Gibson of Carrollton, celebrated her 5th birthday with a party in the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Preddy on May 24.
Attending were honoree, brother, Dustin, parents, Dale and Susan Gibson, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Gibson of Celeste, great aunt, Mrs. Dale Sudderth of Leonard, and great grandmother Mollie Sherrell of Leonard.

New Post Office Building For Celeste
Progress toward the construction of a new and modern post office building at Celeste, Texas, was announced today by Postmaster General J. Edward Day.
"President Kennedy has called for an accelerated construction program of 2,000 new post offices to be built this year as a spur to the economy," the Postmaster General said. "The building that will be constructed here will not only benefit the community by way of more efficient postal service but will help to implement the President's program."
Mr. Day said the Post Office Department is seeking competitive bids to build and lease the new post office to be located within one or two blocks of present site. The building will contain 1200 square feet of interior floor space, and ample paved parking and maneuvering areas is provided.
Under the Department's Commercial Leasing Program, the site will be assigned to the successful bidder, who will purchase the land, construct the building according to departmental specifications and rent it to the Post Office Department for a basic period of five years, with one five-year renewal option.
Bids should be submitted to Postmaster S. M. Compton at Celeste, who will supply bidding forms, building specifications, lease provisions and other information.
