Leonard's National Day of Prayer celebration

May 12, 2011 - National Day of Prayer was celebrated in Leonard on the town square with a large crowd of people from several churches present. Bro. James Siegler from Valley Creek Baptist Church welcomed everyone to the event and David Norman voiced the opening prayer.

The First United Methodist Church choir sang specials, In The Presence with Anne Burke singing a solo part, He Grew the Tree and Jesus is Alive. The Valley Creek praise band lead those attending in three songs, More Love, More Power, We Fall Down and There's Power in Prayer. Bro. Brian Hawkins, soon to be pastor of Valley Creek Baptist Church, spoke a brief message. A representative from all churches present were invited to come to the microphone and voice a prayer.
