Sandra Gayle Steele Awarded Trophy At Baby Show

Sandra Gayle Steele, three-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Steele of Fort Worth was awarded a trophy at a Baby Show, sponsored by the Pythian Sisters in Fort Worth.

Babies were judged on popularity, health and beauty.

The lovely child is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. T. Steele.

Leonard Tigers Rip Dodd City

The Leonard Tigers moved into first place tie in district 14-B Tuesday with a 9-3 lashing of Dodd City.

Billy Steele pitched 6-hit ball and walked only 5 men as Leonard brought its district record to 5-1. Steele, Jerry Blacketer and David Campbell led Leonard hitters with two hits each. Campbell had two homeruns, Blacketer one, and Steele a triple.

The Tigers lost a close one to AA Commerce last Friday, 10-9. Charles McIntosh and Kenneth McClendon had two hits apiece for Leonard. McIntosh and Jerry Blacketer hit homeruns. Jimmy McBroom made a hit on his first start on the mound and was the losing pitcher.

Jerry Blacketer is leading the team at bat with a .361 average. Campbell, Steele and McIntosh follow at .342. Campbell is leading in extra base hits with eight doubles and three homeruns.

Tiger field is completed and portable stands were moved in or spectators for Thursdays game with Fannindel.

All of the local fans are urged to attend the game and support YOUR team.

Domino Tourney At School Gym Monday, May 1st

Coach Hobart Lytal says every one is invited to attend a domino and forty-two tournament in the Leonard school gymnasium Monday night, May 1.

Games will begin at 7:30 p.m. A fee of $1.00 per person will be charged. Refreshments will be available.

Proceeds from the tourney will be used to buy equipment for the Leonard Athletic Department.
