April 21, 2011 - The 2011 Senior Class of Leonard High School celebrated their Senior Prom on April 16 at the Longhorn Hill Party Barn. Seniors arrived to enjoy time together outside as they took photos and compared dresses and tuxes for the evening. After the photo opportunity, the seniors began prom entertainment with a presentation of pictures from the past. The prom night ended with a dance for the seniors and their dates.

At the completion of Prom, the seniors returned to the school where buses were ready to take them to the alcohol- and drug-free after prom party. The first stop of the evening was at IHOP in Rockwall, where the business closed the restaurant for two hours to feed the students. IHOP gave the students star treatment, offering 50% off their meals. Students then loaded the buses once again and went to Shenanigans in Rockwall. Students bowled, played blackout golf, laser tag, drove go-carts, and played video games for three hours. Buses returned to Leonard at 5 a.m. with a load of exhausted seniors and chaperones.

The seniors would like to thank everyone for making it such a wonderful evening. Their first thanks goes to Mr. LaFavers, the LHS school board, and to Leonard ISD for making after-prom possible. Also thank you to all the LHS staff who attended prom and helped set up, serve, and clean. Thank you to Nancy Longino and to the LHS yearbook staff for being there to take pictures and for having the pictures uploaded to the LHS web page for students to enjoy. And last, but certainly not least, a very special thank you to the bus drivers who stayed up all night to make after prom safe and fun.

It was a great night and got everyone involved.
