Tennis team competes in final matches, Rushing advancing to regional tournament

April 14, 2011 - The Leonard High School tennis team competed in the 12-AA district tennis competition on April 7 and 8. Results of that meet are as follows: freshmen Kami Parker and Maddison Mashburn placed fourth in Girls Doubles; sophomores Max Scoggins and Taylor Bishop placed third in Mixed Doubles; freshman Clayton Terry placed third in Boys Singles; sophomore Rylee Rushing placed second in Girls Singles and will advance to the Regional Tennis Meet on April 20-21.

Overall for the season, results were as follows:

Sophomore Rylee Rushing in singles placed second at the Bonham Tournament, first at the Whitewright Tournament, first at the Bland Tournament, first at the Community Tournament, and second at the Prairiland Tournament.

Sophomores Taylor Bishop and Max Scoggins in mixed doubles placed third in the Bonham Tournament, third in the Whitewright Tournament, first at the Community Tournament, and fourth at the Prairiland Tournament.

Seniors Jordan Norman and Mason Butler in boys doubles placed third at the Bohnam Tournament, Consolation at the Community Tournament, Consolation at the Bland Tournament, and won third at the Prairiland Tournament.
