- A resident on Mulberry Street called for help on March 21 after discovering an outdoor shed was on fire. The owner was concerned because the fire was near an RV that could not be moved and contained a propane tank. The Leonard Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire.
- An officer assisted with a medical call on Oak Street on March 21 where a report of a person not breathing was made around 10:15 p.m. The officer worked street traffic until the EMS workers could arrive and transport the person.
- A Fannin Street resident was arrested on a felony charge on March 23 at 10:45 a.m. after threatening city workers with a gun while they were working on the street by his home. Because city workers are public servants, the charge falls in the same category and is as serious as if the man had threatened a police officer. Officers took 56-year-old Leland Leon Henderson into custody on first degree felony charges of Aggravated Assault of a Public Servant.
- Leonard ISD faculty contacted police on March 23 after an assault had taken place on campus and the district officer was not available. Reports show that a 14-year-old student got upset at another 15-year-old student over a seat in a classroom, confronted him, and was sent to the office by the teacher. After the class period, the suspect was released from the office, only to go find the older student and start physically assaulting him. A coach who witnessed the incident from a distance believed the victim had been hit 25-30 times before he was able to get to the location. The victim - who suffers from a genetic handicap - started having seizures after the attack and an ambulance was called. The victim also had a knot the size of a golf ball appear above his right eye and several other bruises from the assault.
- Police took a burglary report on March 23 at 5:30 p.m. The resident reported that somebody had broken out a window in the home to gain entry and had several items missing that included three different video game consoles and several miscellaneous accessories and games, a digital camera and cell phone, all with an estimated value of $1475. The officer was able to collect evidence, including shoe prints outside the window.
- A resident on Travis Street contacted police on March 24 at 10:30 p.m. after discovering that an unknown person had entered her residence, though she had found nothing missing. The complainant advised that she had received a phone call the previous day that her back door was standing open, so she had closed it and placed a chair against it to keep it secured. The woman advised that when she arrived home from work, the door was open again and the chair had been moved. She advised that she looked around, but was unable to find anything missing.
- A criminal trespass warning was issued against a 35-year-old resident on March 22 at 11 a.m. after a verbal dispute had broken out between the suspect and another woman at a home on Pecan street.
- Police took a report of indecency with a child by sexual contact on March 24 by a concerned mother and her five-year-old son. After a short interview, it was determined that the incident had taken place on the Oklahoma side of the Red River, so the case was turned over to another agency in that jurisdiction.
- A Leonard officer issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia on March 25 during a routine traffic stop. The officer observed the suspect vehicle - a 1982 GMC truck - parked in the back of city park with its lights off, and then observed it leaving. The officer followed the vehicle and made contact with the drivers after they stopped at a Leonard business. Both occupants seemed very nervous towards the officer, but the driver agreed to let the officer perform a search of the vehicle. A marijuana roach was found in the ash tray and the driver claimed the item, and was therefore, issued the citation, which is a class C misdemeanor.
- A Trenton officer requested backup on March 27 at 2:15 a.m. while on a traffic stop with a car occupied by three people and he believed the driver was intoxicated. The Leonard officer assisted and it was determined that the driver and one passenger were intoxicated.
- A church employee contacted police on March 27 at 3:19 p.m. after several instances of graffiti were found on the church property. Graffiti was located on the side of the building, two windows and at multiple spots on the parking lot. Estimated damage was $1500.
- A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on March 27 at 6:45 p.m. Reports show that a black pickup truck was reportedly sitting on the side of County Road 5070, and had been for a while. The officer made contact with a male driver and a female occupant, who advised they were sitting talking before she had to go home for the evening. The officer advised the pair to find a better location.
- A property owner filed a criminal mischief report on March 28 at 1 p.m. after it was discovered that an unknown person had kicked in the front door of a rental property. The person responsible also cut and removed the 220 wiring from a fuse box in the home.
- Leonard officers assisted Trenton officers with serving an arrest warrant at a Leonard residence on March 28. The suspect was wanted for aggravated assault in a case that had left the victim in the hospital. One officer advised that the suspect could be armed, but he was found and taken into custody without incident.
- A caring neighbor phoned police on March 28 at 10:50 p.m. after seeing a shadow at his neighbor's window. The tenant at the home advised that she heard noises that indicated someone was trying to take the window screen off.
- A utility worker filed a criminal mischief report on March 28 at 8:05 a.m. after it was discovered that several tires on the complainant's work truck were punctured or slashed.
