March 24, 2011 - The Celeste FFA Agricultural Mechanics team entered three shop projects in the Houston Livestock Show Agricultural Mechanics Contest which was held March 18-20. The students built and exhibited a 16' Utility Trailer, 10' Utility Trailer and a 3 Point Hay Spike. During the judging process, the projects are evaluated for overall workmanship, and the FFA members are asked a series of questions by the judges pertaining to their projects. All three projects scored well and received blue ribbons. Celeste FFA senior, Dalton Childress, participated in the Agricultural Mechanics Job Fair Contest which gives students real-life experience with job interviewing for agricultural mechanics related careers. Dalton placed 4th overall and received a basket of tools and agricultural mechanic supplies. Dalton will be attending Tulsa Welding School this fall.
