March 24, 2011 - The Celeste Bingo Club met on March 15 with Evelyn Mulkey serving as hostess to ten other members. The members attending were Sarah Andry, Patsy Withworth, Mary Ann Hooks, Loretta Shuler, Ruby Miller, Gwen Schroth, Lynda Lou Thorp, Christine Carrington, Judy Hubbard, and Virginia Johnson. The two guests were Sharon and Matthew Wells. Yellow plates and napkins on a pink tablecloth were used for the evening. The ladies enjoyed the refreshments of drinks, Easter M & M's, white cheddar popcorn, Chex mix, peanuts, caramel crunch-n-munch, caramel popcorn, and carrot cake with coconut cream cheese icing.
Several games of Bingo were played with Chris Carrington winning the final blackout game of the evening. Chris received a pink begonia hanging-basket. The favorite prize was a gift basket of a jar of plum jelly, a jar of pear jam, and six plastic containers with lids.
The club routinely meets the third Tuesday of each month in the Community Room at the First Bank of Celeste at 6:15 p.m. with the first game called at 6:30. Guests are welcome with all participants requested to bring an inexpensive gift for prizes. The next Bingo is scheduled for April 19 with Lynda Lou Thorp as hostess.
