Tigers edge Mustangs out of game

March 24, 2011 - During last Tuesday's home competition against the Paris-Chisum Mustangs, the Tigers combined good offense and good defense to hold the opposing team to a one-point deficit at the end of seven innings, when the game was called according to stat reports.

At bat, Leonard had six hits for three runs, scored by Bubba Martin and Caleb Simmons. Bradley Dills and Simmons both hit triples with Dills driving in three runs. Aaron Shanks had a bunt and Ty McKinney earned a base on balls. The Tigers only had five strike-outs against them the entire game.

At defense, the Tigers were led by McKinney at pitcher, who sent 11 Mustangs to the dugout on strikes. Other fielding stats were as follows: Hicks - 2 assists; Dills - 3 assists; Shanks - 2 outs, Martin - 10 outs, one error; McKinney - 10 assists; Simmons - 1 out; Chance Whitworth - 8 outs; and Cody Winkler - 2 assists.

McKinney earned the win for the Tigers, pitching six innings. Dills finished out in the final inning and had two strikeouts.
