March 24, 2011 - The Leonard Public Library is getting ready for their annual "Big Bag of Books Sale", scheduled for Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Furniture Gallery has donated the bags for the sale this year and the library would like to say a big "thank you" to Rachelle Woodruff and Gaye Doyle for their donation. On the day of the event, those attending may pay a $10 donation and fill the bags with books, audio books, movies, etc. that will be in the sale.

Heather Bryant (junior at Leonard High school and varsity cheerleader) has offered to lead the team of volunteer workers on Friday, May 6, in organizing and preparing for the sale. Those students needing community service hours can find Heather on campus to sign up, or may do so at the library. Helpers will be needed on Friday and Saturday.

Anybody wishing to donate items for the sale may do so by taking them to the library before May 6.

Also, the students of Leonard ISD - under the direction of Debbie Gauntt - will have their next storytelling time at the library on Tuesday, March 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
