- A Leonard officer was dispatched to U.S. Highway 69 at the railroad tracks after an EMS responder observed two teen males walking southbound on the highway on March 14 at 4:40 a.m. The officer located the pair, who advised they were walking home from a friend's house. When further questioned, the two refused to provide any additional information. The officer released the two, but warned that if the police received any calls from the area, they would be contacted.
- A local company filed a criminal mischief report on March 15 after it was discovered that an unknown person or person(s) had entered the company vehicle and had been smoking and drinking inside it. The vehicle also had a tire slashed the previous week. The responding officer confiscated cigarette butts and drink bottles for evidence.
- Fannin County dispatched a Leonard officer to an address on Connett Street on March 15 after a 911 call had been left open and the dispatch officer could hear an adult man and woman arguing and the man making threats. The officer arrived at the location and both parties advised that they were "fussing", but everything was okay otherwise. The officer cleared the scene, but was later contacted again by the female who advised she had been physically assaulted by the man. The woman advised the man had hit her on her face, pushed her and threw a phone at her. The officer took pictures of the injuries, and then arrested the man. The woman further obtained information on how to file an emergency protective order.
- Two incident reports were taken by Leonard police on the mornings of March 17 and 18 for dog bites. One required the attention of first responders.
- An officer was called out to a minor accident on March 18 at 12:40 p.m. on U.S. Highway 69. The incident involved a 63-year-old man from Bronson and a 67-year-old man from Leonard.
- A resident contacted authorities on March 19 at 11:30 a.m. after he was shopping with his friend at a local business and they both thought one was short-changed by $4. The manager of the business counted the drawer twice and it was even, but the men were adamant that they had not received enough change back. The men left and called police to report what happened. The manager told the officer that if the complainant came back, she would pay him the $4 he thought they owed him. The man told officers that he would not be going back to get the money, but the store manager later reported that he had in fact returned for the cash.
- An officer was dispatched to a medical call on Connett Street on March 19 at 12:25 p.m. after a resident had a lawnmower accident and was originally reported - to the officer - to have lost his hand. The officer discovered that the man, however, had lost part of two fingers - not his whole hand - and was taken by personal vehicle to a Greenville hospital.
- A concerned father filed a report with officers on March 19 at 4:45 p.m after his kids had been physically assaulted on more than one occasion by another teen while playing basketball. He said the incidents had not been reported sooner because his children did not want to have to stop playing ball, and because he was afraid of how the suspect would retaliate. The man was given statement forms to complete and return to the police station.
- Fannin County dispatch reported a 911 hang-up call on March 19 at 9:45 p.m. at a residence on Pecan Street. The officer discovered there was a small child playing with a deactivated cell phone at the residence, which can still dial 911. The adults at the location advised that everything was okay.
- A 44-year-old Trenton man was arrested on March 19 at 10:25 p.m. for driving while intoxicated - third or more offense. An officer on routine patrol observed a white truck traveling at a slow rate of speed and swerving line to line, and initiated a traffic stop. The officer noticed an odor of alcohol coming from the driver, Riley Eugene Fine, and he also admitted that he had been drinking. Standard field sobriety tests were performed on Fine, who was unable to complete any of them satisfactorily. The officer placed him under arrest for driving while intoxicated and transported him to Red River Regional Medical Center for a blood sample. It was later discovered this was Fine's third time to be charged with DWI. His two previous convictions were in 2000 and 2007.
- A 39-year-old Trenton resident was arrested for DWI on March 21 at 1:05 a.m. A Trenton officer observed a vehicle traveling at U.S. Highway 69 and FM 981 that crossed the center line several times. The vehicle was stopped and a Leonard officer administered the standard field sobriety tests, which could not be passed by the driver. The driver was taken into custody, transported to an area hospital for a blood specimen, and then transported to jail. This was the suspect's second DWI offense.
