Kimberly Zachary Celebrates Third Birthday
Kimberly Nicole Zachary was honored on her third birthday, March 8, in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Zachary of Celeste.
A story book theme was carried out in the decorations. Guests were served cake, ice cream and punch. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Brister, Paul and Aaron of Lewisville; Eunice Brister of Savoy, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Zachary and Tim of Celeste, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Atnip of Leonard.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Clarence McGuire celebrated his 89th birthday Saturday. Those visiting were Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Perkins of Dallas, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wooley of Leonard, Paula Shields of Amarillo, Ella Bess and Mac Shields of Howe.
Celeste Business Sold
Mrs. Linda Brown and Mrs. Arvella Kirk, both of Greenville, have purchased the business formerly called Debbies in downtown Celeste. The new name will be The Tree House and hours will be from 10-6 Tue.-Sat.
Mrs. Kirk will manage the shop. She has been in the real estate business in Greenville and has also had tax preparation experience.
The ladies will offer a variety of services along with an inventory of clothing, gifts, and toys that include sewing, alterations, crafts, and income tax preparation. A floral service may be implemented at a late date.
Blood Donations Needed
The Lions Club started a blood bank for Celeste about six or seven years ago. For some unknown reason it was not kept up yearly and soon became depleted.
The club looked into the matter recently and after many contacts with Wadley Blood Bank it will be resumed in the Celeste community. Blood must be collected for the community on March 31 starting at 2:30 p.m. and ending at 7:30 p.m. Blood will be collected at the local high school. Follow the signs on the school grounds and you'll not miss the Wadley Blood Bank members collecting blood for the Celeste community.

Celeste Blue Devils Win Tournament At Wolfe City
The Celeste Blue Devils won the boys' invitational basketball tournament at Wolfe City last week end by defeating Wolfe City in the finals by a score of 51 to 41.
The Blue Devils advanced to the finals with a 39 to 31 victory over Leonard, and a 49 to 41 win over Honey Grove.
The tournament was for boys that will play basketball next year. The seniors of this year did not participate.
Mrs. Sandra Gilbert Opens Record Shop In Leonard
Mrs. Bobby (Sandra) Gilbert announces the opening of Sandra's Record Shop Saturday, March 18, located in the Gilbert Electric building on the west side of the square in Leonard.
For an opening special Mrs. Gilbert is selling all RCA Long Play Albums at 25 percent reductions for one week. The shop will feature Stereo, Hi Fi and 45 singles.
The public is invited to come in and register for free merchandise that will be given away.
Roy Stapleton Opens Texaco Service Station In Town
Roy Stapleton is serving the public in his new location. The Texaco Service Station at the east end of Main Street, while the building is actually undergoing repair and two coats of white paint.
Six flood lights and a hydraulic lift were installed this week.
Mr. Stapleton announces he will give S&H Green Stamps, Wednesdays being double stamp days.
Mr. Stapleton is happy to return to operating a business after having been out since he was injured in an explosion that wrecked his service station and grocery on High 69 several months ago.ation.
ENGAGED
Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Compton, 1003 North Catherine, Terrell, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Miss Lydia Ann Compton, to James A. Gipson, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Gipson, 306 East McCoulskey, Terrell.
The wedding will be April 14 at seven o'clock in the evening in the Prayer Room at First Christian Church in Terrell. The Rev. Chuck Mull of Mt. Pleasant will officiate.
Miss Compton is the granddaughter of Mrs. E. D. Whitworth, Route One, Leonard.
