March 10, 2011 - Wind and chilly temperatures brought most scores up at the Cooper/Caddo Invitational at Lake Fork Golf Club Monday, but the Leonard Tigers continue to improve.

The Tigers were good enough for fifth place with their score of 369, their third straight tournament to shave strokes off their team score. Justin Bennett carded a career-best 85 in his third tournament, while teammates Storm Taylor and Mitchell Vines added scores of 92 and 94, respectively. Rounding out the effort were Cory Martin at 98 and Bradley Dills with a 101. Medalist players included Cody Smallwood at 107, Michael St. George at 115, and Quinn Winkler with a 133.

Leonard's girls fell victim to the wind off the lake, turning in a 505. Shelby Zumwalt led the way at 117, and Marissa Kuntz pitched in a 122. They were followed by Alex Brooks at 132, Alyssa Woodruff at 134, and Maggie Foster with a 139. Other girls participating were medalists Jordan Riley at 118 and Rosa Gomez at 124.

Both teams will have Spring Break off before traveling to Webb Hill in Wolfe City on the following Monday.
