  • An officer was dispatched to a business on the square on Feb. 22 at 10:58 a.m. after two men - one from Garland and one from Sherman - were disagreeing over a payment for services rendered. The officer found the issue to be a civil matter and only verbal, so no charges were filed. The men were advised that issues over the payment would have to be taken up in court.
  • A resident on Cedar Street called police on Feb. 22 at 10:46 p.m. after an unknown person had attempted to enter her residence. Reports show that the complainant and another woman heard somebody try and turn the knob on her front door, and that person ran when one of the women opened the door. The officer checked the vicinity of the residence but was unable to locate anybody suspicious.
  • A 19-year-old Greenville woman was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia on Feb. 23 at 8:40 p.m. after an officer located a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue inside during a traffic stop. The item was found in a suitcase in the back of the vehicle, and the woman - a passenger in the car - claimed ownership. Possession of drug paraphernalia is a class C misdemeanor.
  • A Leonard woman residing on Mulberry Street called police on Feb. 23 at 11:45 p.m. after hearing her door knob rattle as if somebody was attempting to open the door. Two officers searched the premises and outbuildings of the home, but were unable to locate anybody. A search of the neighborhood around the home was also performed, but turned up nothing.
  • Police were dispatched to a resident on Parmele Street on Feb. 25 at 5 p.m. for a disturbance call. The 17-year-old complainant advised that a group of boys were trying to get him to come outside, but he stated that when he did that once before, they had jumped him. The officer located the group of boys walking on Houston Street and warned them not to go back to the complainant's residence. All parties agreed to stay away from the home.
