Grand Jury indicts 38, six cases from Leonard police

March 3, 2011 - Criminal District Attorney Richard Glaser reports that on Thursday, Feb. 24, the Grand Jury met to consider 38 cases, and all 38 cases were true-billed or indicted. So far in 2011, the Grand Jury has returned 73 true bills of indictment.

It is important to note that an indictment is a formal charge and should not, in itself, be considered an indication of guilt. All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

The following people were indicted for the criminal offense(s) indicated:

Stephanie Ann Acklin, 21, of Leonard - possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 weighing less than one gram, a state jail felony.

Kyle Martin, 46, of Leonard - Possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 weighing less than one gram in a drug free zone, an unassigned felony carrying a penalty range of 7-20 years in confinement and a fine up to $10,000.

Donna McCommas, 47, of Leonard - Possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 weighing less than one gram in a drug free zone, an unassigned felony carrying a penalty range of 7-20 years in confinement and a fine up to $10,000.

Jorge Louis Verde, 37, of Leonard - possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 weighing less than one gram, a state jail felony.

Angela Shawn Zachary, 35, of Leonard - One count of burglary of a habitation, a second degree felony, and two counts of forgery of a financial instrument, a state jail felony.

James Lyle Davenport, 55, of Celeste - official oppression, a class A misdemeanor.

George William Warren, Jr. 31, of Celeste - official oppression, a class A misdemeanor.

Christian Weers, 19, of Trenton - Aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first degree felony.

Glynda Gail Watson, 34, of Whitewright - One count of forgery of a financial instrument, a state jail felony, and one count of credit or debit card abuse, a state jail felony.

Jordan Lavae Back, 24, of Bonham - driving while intoxicated third or more, a third degree felony.

Joel Aguilar Castanon, 28, driving while intoxicated third or more, a third degree felony.

Krystal Renee Clark, 26, of Bonham - Manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 weighing less than one gram, a state jail felony.

Christopher O'Neal Frazier, 23, of Bonham - Manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 weighing less than one gram, a state jail felony.

Heather Nicole Hamby, 19, of Bonham - Aggravated robbery, a first degree felony.

Terry Bruce Harguess, 54, of Bonham - Two counts of driving while intoxicated third or more, a third degree felony.

Eddie Kyle Hudson, 49, of Bonham - Fraudulent possession of a controlled substance/prescription on schedule 3/4, a third degree felony.

Emilio Hernandez Martinez, 45, of Bonham - Driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years of age, a state jail felony.

Jessie Dale Starnes, 19, of Bonham - aggravated robbery, a first degree felony.

Casey Lee Stevenson, 22, of Bonham - Harassment of a public servant, a third degree felony.

John Scott Thompson, II, 29, of Bonham - One count of assault of a family/house member by impeding breath or circulation - enhanced, a third degree felony, and one count of injury to a child/elderly/disabled person with intent to cause bodily injury - enhanced, a third degree felony.

Carl Eugene Wilson, 52, of Bonham - One count of aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first degree felony, and two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, a second degree felony.

Joseph Rickey Ceasar, 49, of Ladonia - Sex offenders duty to register annually for life - enhanced, a third degree felony carrying a penalty range of 2-20 years in confinement and a fine up to $10,000.

Ethan Wade Renfro, 19, of Windom - Burglary of a building, a state jail felony.

Thomas Allen Stockton, 44, of Dodd City - Assault of a family/house member by impeding breath or circulation, a third degree felony.

Rocky Barton, 28, of Greenville - obstruction or retaliation - enhanced, a third degree felony carrying a penalty range of 2 - 20 years in confinement and a fine up to $10,000.

Tanya Yvonne Waiwaiole, 38, of Denison - possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 weighing between one and four grams, a third degree felony.

Dustin Mark Jackson, 28, of Flower Mound - Evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle - enhanced, a state jail felony.

Shane David Mandrell, 19, of Rio Vista - One count of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 weighing between one and four grams, a third degree felony, and one count of possession of marijuana weighing between four ounces and five pounds, a state jail felony.

Tyler Wilkinson, 19, of Bennington, Okla. - Two counts of theft of property valued between $1500-$20,000, a state jail felony.

Unless otherwise noted, the felony charges carry a penalty fine up to $10,000 on each count, the misdemeanor charges carry a penalty fine up to $4,000, and the confinement ranges are as follows: class A misdemeanor - one year in county jail; state jail felony - 180 days-2 years; third degree felony - 2-10 years; second degree felony - 2-20 years; and first degree felony - 5-99 years or life.

The law enforcement agencies filing cases were as follows: Bonham Police Department - 13 cases, Fannin County Sheriff's Office - 12 cases, Leonard Police Department - 6 cases, Department of Public Safety -

3 cases, Texas Rangers - 2 cases, Honey Grove Police Department - 1 case, and Trenton Police Department - 1 case.

The Grand Jury is scheduled to meet next on March 24 at 8:30 a.m.
