• A Leonard officer was contacted by a resident on Connett Street on Feb. 15 after she had caught a stray cat in a live trap setup at the home. The officer took custody of the animal and placed it for safekeeping.
• The manager of a local store called police on Feb. 15 after reportedly seeing a customer put merchandise in their jacket. The woman told officers she had taken the items from the suspect and asked him to leave. The officer found the suspect walking and he advised that he had a large sum of cash in his wallet and he had no intentions of stealing anything, but was on his way to the register to pay when he was stopped by the manager. The suspect was issued a criminal trespass warning at the request of the store manager.
• A Denison man was issued a citation for no driver's license on Feb. 17 after an officer discovered the offense during a traffic stop. The man was originally pulled over for following a vehicle too closely. The man was cited for no DL and warned for following too close, and then his vehicle was impounded.
• A Frisco man owning some type of construction business filed a burglary report with Leonard officers on Feb. 17. The complainant advised that an employee of his had taken and pawned four work items without his permission. The suspect is a 31-year-old Bonham man.
• A 45-year-old female resident called police on Feb. 17 after a purse containing a digital camera was stolen from her vehicle while she was at a Leonard business. The woman advised she had left her doors unlocked on her truck. The value of the stolen items was estimated to be approximately $300.
• A concerned father called police on Feb. 17 after his 15-year-old son had been assaulted. The officer was unable to investigate the incident, however, because the victim would not say who assaulted him and where it happened.
• Officers were dispatched to a disturbance on Cedar Street on Feb. 17. The complainant advised that his sister was at the hospital with her son and she had called and requested that he go to her house and get her car keys because the man living with her had been drinking and she didn't want him to drive. The complainant advised the boyfriend would not give him the keys, however. The officer told the complainant that he could not make the man give up the keys because he lived at the residence with his sister. The officer, however, further advised the man who had been drinking that he would go to jail if he left the house in the car.
• A 21-year-old resident was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia after he turned over less than one ounce of marijuana during a traffic stop on Feb. 18 at 11:50 p.m.
• A Leonard officer arrested a 30-year-old Sherman woman on Feb. 19 after she was pulled over for going 90 miles per hour in a 70 zone, and was further found to have a warrant out of Fannin County Sheriff's Office.
• A 29-year-old Leonard man was arrested on Feb. 20 at 10:10 a.m. after an officer observed the man driving a vehicle, and knew he did not have a valid driver's license and had warrants out of Leonard Police Department. After contacting the man, dispatch advised another warrant out of Austin on the suspect. The man was taken into custody on all of the warrants and issued a citation for driving while license is invalid.
• An officer was dispatched to a disturbance in progress on Feb. 18 between a man and woman at a residence on Thomas Street. The officer made contact with both subjects and asked what was going on. The man - who appeared to be very intoxicated to the officer - advised they were arguing a little, though the officer could hear them yelling from the street several hundred feet away when he was in route. The officer's superior advised that the man needed to go inside for the evening, or he would go to jail for public intoxication. The officer further advised that if he was dispatched back out that evening for another disturbance, one - or both - would go to jail.
• A resident living on FM 981 called police on Feb. 21 at 12:50 p.m. after she was traveling on State Highway 78 near FM 981 and the driver of an oncoming vehicle threw something at her vehicle that cracked the windshield and left a red syrupy mixture on the passenger side of the windshield. The woman advised she was following the vehicle responsible for the damage, but had lost track of it after a few minutes on a county road north of U.S. Highway 69. Leonard and Trenton police searched for the vehicle but were unable to locate it.
• A 42-year-old New Braunfels man was arrested on Feb. 22 at 3:49 a.m. after a Leonard officer was notified during a traffic stop that he had a warrant out of Bexar County for theft of services. The man was also issued a ticket for speeding.
