Feb. 10, 2011 - Due to the uncertain weather conditions, the CORE Board has decided to reschedule the first Bonham Community Garden Organizational Gathering to Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m., in the Elizabeth May Room at American Bank of Texas. All interested citizens of Bonham and surrounding areas are encouraged to attend and provide input and feedback. Organizers need to know who plans to actually garden a plot in the Community Garden or serve as a consultant, sponsor, or cheerleader.
At this meeting, the primary focus will be to inform citizens about community gardens around the USA, but will also be about what it takes to get a project like this going, to learn about any primary interest in the garden, and last, but definitely not least..... to select a possible site for planning and preparing a Bonham Community Garden. Organizers have three potential sites already offered by both the city and organizations.
Those who wish to learn more about gardening and who want to use the plots to grow vegetables for family consumption and fun definitely need a voice in the organization of a Bonham Community Garden. All Bonham area citizens are invited to join them on Feb. 22, and "Dig in and Make it Happen".
