Jan. 27, 2011 - On Friday, Jan. 28, the elementary campus will kick off a two-week sale of discount cards. These cards will sell for $20 each and contain discounts to 20 various businesses. While the amount may seem high, it can pay for itself rapidly with the great discounts offered on the card. The discount cards are plastic, credit card sized and have discounts to local Leonard businesses as well as some businesses in Bonham, Sherman and McKinney. The cards have unlimited use throughout the year and don't expire until February of 2012.

The elementary has a goal to sell 1,000 and will be offering incentives for student sales. The school will receive 50% of the profit.

On the afternoon of the kick-off, each student will receive an order form to bring home which parents will need to write the child's name, teacher and grade at the top of. Those wishing to order must pay for their purchase at time of ordering with cash or checks made out to Leonard Elementary School. The order form and money are due back at the school by Tuesday, Feb. 10. The cards will be received within two weeks.

"We're hoping this fundraiser will be a little more convenient than some of our previous fundraisers," said a school official. "No freezer storage needed, no heavy boxes to carry and everyone will benefit from the multiple discounts the cards offer throughout the year."
